Don't forget! Sunday, June 10, you are invited to our Parent Program and Closing Ceremonies. It will be held at the Freed Performing Arts Center at Ohio Northern University at 2pm. Click here for a map of the campus in Ada, Ohio.

FYI! We ask the students to refrain from using their cell phones during the day sessions, so don't fret if they haven't responded to you. They can call when they are back at the dorm in the evenings.

What Do Parents Have to Say About HOBY?

Hello,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to those of you who put on the HOBY seminar this year. My daughter came home with such excitement; excitement I hadn't seen in a long time! She wants/plans to continue on with the community service work here in our local area, thanks to your seminar. I am 'very big' on promoting helping others & this was a great opportunity for Monica to see how others serve. She is beaming still from ear to ear & is getting together with some other kids she met at the conference who live in the local area. Together, they're going to come up with a way to serve. We couldn't be happier.

More than that, she was very happy overall with the conference as a whole. She was worried at first when she saw how packed the schedule was but after coming home, she said it flew by. She was happy to meet others from other schools and make friends, but she actually learned A LOT at your seminar.
She couldn't stop talking about it.

I just wanted to thank you for the great program you put on year after year.
We also have two prior attendees from other years at our Church who have said the same things about your seminar. You are truly making a difference, if even for 4 days a year, and these kids are getting involved with community service projects & carrying it on, even in their college years.
Thank you!

_______________

Hi,

My son, Jason Ford (Parkway High School), attended HOBY this last weekend at ONU. I want to thank you for sending home a changed person. He has been doing things that have me turning my head in wonderment. Is this really my son? Last night after supper, he hugged me and kissed my cheek, then thanked me for our meal.  Also, this kid, who would not have gotten off the couch except to play football, has now asked that I help him line up some community service. Thank you for sending home a person with a goal.

Thank you for all of your help and inspiration. I honestly was concerned about Jason's summer. Now, he has something to focus on during this time.
Respectfully,
Stacie Ford

I wanted to applaud and thank you for the wonderful program HOBY was for my son Joshua.  It was obvious on the drive home he was a different (albeit exhausted) young man from the one I left off Thursday morning.  I thought your Parent Program was first class and your volunteer's dedication to HOBY and the kids was sincere and true.  Mr. O'Brian's phone call was icing on the cake.

Thanks again,

- HOBY Parent
